I haven’t been to the lily pond for a long time. There’s lots of frogs after all the rain. There’s also three little calves in the field behind. I remember thinking some of the cows looked very pregnant, and now they’ve had their babies.

At Private Bench the duckling family is here and the ducklings have grown. I saw them today. There’s five of them left. They’re quite big now. They swam quickly across the river.

It is a glorious day down at the Big Old Tree. It is sunny and beautiful. There’s birds everywhere. We just saw an Azure Kingfisher fly by really close. The flood has clearly been the whole way through here, and you can see a very defined line between where the water went up to. Everything […]

And just like that the water drops and the whole Bench is back and the walking path is back. You wouldn’t know that it all happened except for the grass is flattened and muddy, and there’s debris stuck to the trees. This tree is by the path and the debris is at my shoulder height. […]

The bench is coming back slowly. I do miss sitting on it.

Northern Bench is just emerging out of the floodwaters. Across the other side, I can see the top of Other Side Bench as well. As the waters gone down a little bit, it’s starting to reveal all the debris that’s been washed down in the flood and gotten stuck on all the trees.

This is amazing. I didn’t come down to this end of the river last year when it flooded, so I haven’t seen it like this. The flood looks even more amazing at this end because the river is narrower up here. When the river burst its banks, it just completely spread. I can’t get anywhere […]
