What a wonderful sky and sunset. It’s a warm night, and I’m taking a moment to sit on the Bench before I pack the car and put the boards on the roof. Getting ready to leave early for the beach tomorrow.

New Years Day. First day of 2023! I love new years. I love the fresh start. I feel very excited for this year. We came down to the beach for a swim first thing in the morning. Now we are heading home as the crowds are moving in. It’s going to be a hot day.

It’s a very different Little Pier Bench tonight. New Years Eve. There’s a beautiful sunset happening, and very soon there will be fireworks. We’re going to sit out here on the pier. It’s very crowded on the shore. It’s not as crowded on the pier because it’s windier out here.

I’d been wondering why the whale’s tail tree looked different. I realised it’s because a tree trunk got wrapped around and stuck in it during the flood. There’s also a Chestnut Teal duck hanging out here today. They really are beautiful birds.

The Wrens are here. The acacia trees have just dropped their seeds. The whole path is covered with these little red seeds. They almost looks like eyes, or some type of jewellery stones. There’s some seed pods still in the trees, I’ll put in a photo of those too.

It’s a beautiful summer day out in the fields. Today, there are a million butterflies everywhere. I’ve taken many photos trying to catch them. They’re difficult to catch. There’s white ones and orange ones, and dragonflies too. I also saw what I think might be the European Goldfinch. I have to go look it up. […]

The Corellas! The Corellas are very active at this time of year. The river is full of their feathers, the trees have twigs and leaves thrown down out of them, gum nuts too. They’re everywhere.

We’ve had so much fun this Christmas. Just eating food and playing games and having lots of laughs. I’ve stepped outside to take a break in the backyard. It’s sunset and the light is so beautiful.

There’s so many birds around. In a grevillea down the street this morning, Mum and I saw some Musk Lorikeets and Purple Crowned Lorikeets. They are uncommon nomads and they were all flying together in a big flock. It’s pretty exciting when you see two new birds at once. It was a great way to […]
