Day 265 – Lily Pond Bench

I couldn’t even get to the Bench today. Huge storms have been rolling through last night and this morning. The Lily Pond has overflowed all over the path. I’ve never seen it like this before, I guess it’s because it rained so recently.

Day 264 – Front Deck Bench

Wow! I just saw a big snake. I’m not sure what type of snake it is, but I avoid all snakes whether I know if they’re poisonous or not. I was surprised to see it because it wasn’t particularly sunny and it’s kind of late in the day.

Day 263 – Tennis Court Bench

Saw our resident teenage Magpie this morning. He’s in the middle in the photo.

Day 262 – Other Side Bench

I saw the Wood Duck family again! The ducklings are so grown up. There’s still five teenagers and their parents.

Day 261 – Big Old Tree Bench

I’m watching the Eastern Rosellas feeding the little babies in the nest. I can’t see the babies clearly, they are too far inside the nest hollow. The acacia flowers are turning brown now and falling off the trees. My son is climbing in the Big Old Tree.

Day 260 – Private Bench

I snuck up to the Bench this morning because I was hoping to see the family of Wood Ducks I often see here. They weren’t here this morning. I was ready with my camera to get a photo, but because I didn’t so I’m going to use one I took the other day.

Day 259 – Switchback Bench

There’s a family of Kookaburras down at the Cascades today. Unfortunately, I couldn’t catch them laughing in the recording. There’s two adults and a teenager. There is one in the photo, although without a telephoto lens, it’s very difficult to spot. Today there was also the Grey Fantail on the fence, although after the flood, […]

Day 258 – Little Pier Bench

I’ve taken a walk down to the waterfront in town. Even out here on the little pier, it feels so busy with all the traffic going past. I guess I’m used to all the quiet out in the country.

Day 257 – Northern Bench

It’s been hot the last few days. The river level has dropped a lot, and it’s left behind so much mud. The banks that used to be green with grass and leaves are covered in brown mud. The mud on the path in front of the Bench has now dried and cracked. This is the […]

Day 256 – Private Bench

The flock of gang gang cockatoos are here today. I love it! It’s a beautiful sunny morning and the sunlight is reflecting of the ripples in the water onto the trees on the bank. We saw Edward this morning.
