I’ve been sitting on the bench for a long time today. I’ve sat here so long that I guess a sense of timelessness has settled over me. The river gently flows past, sparkling in the sunlight. The ducks drift gracefully downstream, then swim slowly back upstream. I saw a dog come down to the bank on the other side. All of the ducks took flight at once. There was just an explosion of golden water droplets in the sunshine as they all took off.
The moorhens are going back and forth. I even saw a little rodent of some kind leap out of the bushes on one side of the path, and dive into the bushes on the other, so fast I couldn’t see what it was.
This beautiful little red rumped parrot came down, landed and decided it was a good day to have a bath. I watched him splashing around, his lovely emerald green feathers and red rump and yellow underparts flashing in the sun. If you look carefully, you can see him in the photo.
Our world is so beautiful. We just need to stop and look at it. That’s all it takes.
