Day 70 – Lily Pond Bench

There’s a Black-shouldered Kite above the Bench today. He’s hunting in the field beside the pond. They’re amazing birds, white with red eyes, and this black pattern on the tips of the underside of their wings. So you can only tell if it’s the Black-shouldered or the Letter-winged Kite when they fly. Both have an incredible way of hovering perfectly in place while looking for prey below.

On the way to the bench this afternoon, I saw a little young gum tree by the path was flowering. The cream flowers smell so sweet.
