At this time of year, the Lily Pond is almost overgrown with the lily leaves. There’s no gaps in between where you can see the sky reflected in the water. It is a sea of green thick leaves, layers of leaves, all competing to grow on top of each other to get more light. They have risen higher and higher from the surface of the water as summer has gone on.
I like seeing the Lily Pond in all the different seasons. There is still a few flowers left but nothing like at the end of spring.
