Day 39 – Private Bench

The river is almost back to its normal flow. There’s very little to suggest that this whole area where I’m sitting was underwater for the last few days. The only noticeable things are the few puddles lying around, and the grass, which is normally so bright green, is dull under a very fine coat of silt. All the long grasses on the riverbanks have been laid flat by the current, and they’re in really beautiful almost woven shapes. Apart from that, it’s back to normal down here on the river.

It’s been so windy the last few days. I often feel unsettled when it’s really windy. Today is no exception.
