It’s absolutely surreal sitting here in the morning mist, watching the floodwaters very quietly but swiftly pass by. The Bench is just beginning to emerge from the floodwater, just the very top of the back of it.
It really is humbling when you see something like a flood or the aftermath of a big bushfire. It just reminds you how relatively insignificant you are, and how the world will keep turning matter what we do. Nature will keep doing its thing with all its cycles.
Just last week, we had an earthquake too. Here in southern Australia we don’t have earthquakes often, certainly not large ones. I think it was a 5.9. Everyone was talking about it. From earthquakes to floods, it’s interesting times we live in.
