So here I am finally sitting on Southern Bench. I thought I would sit here more, given it’s one of the closest benches to my house. But after a bit over month of sitting on benches, this is the first time I am sitting here.
I was thinking about what I’ve learned so far, by sitting on a bench every day for the last month. The first thing is that not many people sit on park benches. Our benches are definitely under-utilised. I guess it’s like smelling the roses, sitting on the park bench – not many of us seem to have the time. The other main thing I’ve learned is how good it has been for me to take the time to just sit and ‘be’ every single day. I can’t quite describe why or what it’s done, but it’s definitely been good for me. I’ve also reconfirmed just how much I love nature, how much I love walking, how much I love being outside the fresh air, the trees, the birds, the flowers, the sky, the clouds, the river. I love it so much.
