I was on my way to the lily pond, when I saw these gang gang cockatoos. It reminded me of a photo I took last year of a gang gang cockatoo in this same tree. It’s an acacia tree, and at this time of year they love the seeds.
I went closer to get another picture, and realised it’s a huge flock of gang gangs, about twenty of them. They are all just quietly munching away in the tree. They call out when they fly, which you can hear in the recording. But I can also hear the peaceful munching sounds. They hold the seedpods with their little feet while they pick out the seeds.
