It’s gone. The Blue Wren Bench is simply gone. There’s two big holes left in the ground where it was. I can’t believe it. The flood took the whole thing. I’ve looked downstream on the banks for quite a distance and I can’t see it anywhere.
This side of the river has been so much more effected than last year. It’s complete devastation. All the gravel from the path is piled up off to the sides. It’s muddy, it’s strewn with old tyres and rubbish, and all of the shrubs on the banks are flattened. There are trees uprooted. It is looks completely different.
I can’t believe my favorite Bench is gone. I feel a sense of loss.
Note: As you can see in the photo, I eventually found the Bench well down the river, wedged in a tree a couple metres off the ground.
