Day 214 – Private Bench

Edward just cruised past up the river. He came quite close again. He hasn’t been coming as close in the last few months. In fact, he’d been kind of swimming away. Today he didn’t seem to mind me being close. He just kept on going on his way.

Day 213 – Northern Bench

There was three red rumped parrots down at the water’s edge when I arrived today. They flew up into the tree and then flew down to land on the other bank. I wish that something as small as a phone could take photos is close up as a telephoto lens so I could get pictures […]

Day 212 – Northern Bench

Edward just cruised past the Bench. He kind of stopped in and came closer which is nice.

Day 211 – Tennis Court Bench

Today, there was a very stately Magpie strutting around the Bench when I arrived. They’re such striking black and white birds. It’s cold today, grey and windy. I’m hoping it doesn’t rain on us while we play tennis. I’m sitting here waiting for my son.

Day 210 – Tennis Court Bench

I think it’s going to rain. My son just hit the ball way up into the air, over the fence, and it almost hit me where I was sitting on the Bench! Now he’s laughing in the background. Edit: I listened to the recording and realised it caught the thump of the ball landing beside […]

Day 209 – Blue Wren Bench

This always has been one of my favourite Benches. There is just such a gentleness here, a peacefulness, a softness and a sweetness. Today, I was sitting here quietly and a mother duck was swimming down the river leading her little ducklings. They are the first baby ducks I have seen this spring. Unfortunately, as […]

Day 208 – Northern Bench

At Northern Bench, there isn’t a cloud in the sky. The sunlight is sparkling off the river. The water level has dropped a lot.

Day 207 – Switchback Bench

I’ve sat here by the river for a very long time today just watching the river flowing by. There is so much here for me, and I can’t wait to see what it is.

Day 206 – Private Bench

The Bench has clearly been underwater in the flood. I’m sitting on the back of the Bench, because the seat is now covered in a fine layer of mud which has now dried and cracked into these beautiful patterns. It looks like an aerial photo of a river.

Day 205 – Blue Wren Bench

I haven’t been to Blue Wren Bench in a while because the river was too high at the bridge. Today, it’s just as peaceful as ever though. The photo is of the old dead tree beside the Bench which has a bee’s nest in the hollow near the top. I always see bees coming and […]
