Well there it is. A full year of sitting on benches. I feel like I’ve gone the full circle like the leaf in yesterday’s picture. Today I loved this beautiful green grasshopper who is camouflaged in the photo. Sometimes it’s hard to put words to things that words don’t necessarily apply to. Which is why […]

Day 335 – Private Bench
There’s a couple people fishing over the other side of the river. In the ten minutes I’ve been sitting here, I’ve seen them catch two pretty big, very shiny, slightly golden coloured fish. With all the rain we had a couple days ago, the river has risen, and we can’t cross at the causeway again. […]
Day 334 – Lal Lal Bench
It’s so windy out here. There’s three very cute little ponies in this field beside me. All have big shaggy manes.
Day 309 – Lal Lal Bench
It’s a beautiful summer day out in the fields. Today, there are a million butterflies everywhere. I’ve taken many photos trying to catch them. They’re difficult to catch. There’s white ones and orange ones, and dragonflies too. I also saw what I think might be the European Goldfinch. I have to go look it up. […]
Day 301 – Rocky Point Bench
I see kangaroos bouncing through the dry fields. It’s hot, it’s windy, there’s flies all around me, and the Murray River down there is flooded. There was sandbags all down the main street in Mannum when we drove through this morning. Some houses are already underwater. A lot of people closest to the river have […]
Day 299 – Vivonne Bench
Vivonne Bay, Kangaroo Island. It’s is absolutely stunning. It’s a huge white beach with beautiful sand dunes behind it and rock pools at low tide. We went snorkelling by the pier before, and now I’ve found a peaceful rock down by the water’s edge. This rock is sheltered from the wind by a larger rock, […]
Day 297 – Admiral’s Bench
On the Bench at Admiral’s Arch at Kangaroo Island, South Australia. There’s nobody here but us in the Arch, and the seals. There’s seals everywhere, they’re sleeping on rocks and swimming in the water. There’s some in the photo, but they’re camouflaged on the rocks. The a lot of Giant Gulls here, soaring around in […]
Day 295 – Seal Bay Bench
We’re here watching the Australian fur seal colony at Seal Bay. We’re on the boardwalk and there’s a little baby and his mother about two and a half metres from the Bench. They are so gorgeous. We saw this baby drinking milk before and now they’re both taking a nap on the sand dunes.
Day 289 – Side of the Road Bench
We stopped to take a a break on our road trip. Already the bird songs are different. We spotted this little Bearded Dragon. He’s sun baking beside a hole. I wonder if the hole is where he lives?
Day 285 – Lily Pond Bench
You know it’s summer when you start seeing the Blue-Tongue Lizards out and about in the sun. We saw this guy on the path.
