Day 278 – Switchback Bench

It’s like an informal flood marker. Is the ‘U’ shaped lowest part of this tree branch in the water? Today, it is. The last time I took a photo here, it wasn’t.

Day 269 – Switchback Bench

Today smells like honey. All of the Acacia blossoms are falling off the trees. They are lining the path and it makes everything smell like floral honey. I just saw that the same Kookaburra that was here the other day, is in the same tree. I might go take another photo. I wonder if he’s […]

Day 259 – Switchback Bench

There’s a family of Kookaburras down at the Cascades today. Unfortunately, I couldn’t catch them laughing in the recording. There’s two adults and a teenager. There is one in the photo, although without a telephoto lens, it’s very difficult to spot. Today there was also the Grey Fantail on the fence, although after the flood, […]

Day 255 – Switchback Bench

I’ve sat here for a long time time today. I sat here while the red-rumped parrots flew over and the blue wrens picked through the grass beside the Bench. I realised I was sitting here because I was waiting for some kind of answer, something to solve my problems for me. But no amount of […]

Day 247 – Switchback Bench

The water is over the foot bridge again. It’s almost the perfect height for a ninja challenge. We really want the ninja challenge, so we are going to sit here for a while and see if the water goes down.

Day 227 – Switchback Bench

It’s a windy, windy day today. I was sitting on the Bench in the sun when I saw this little blue wren preening in the tree next to me. See if you can spot him in the photo.

Day 219 – Switchback Bench

Sitting on the Bench today, I’ve been thinking about life and thinking about how it’s a constant series of challenges. It’s one thing after another. Everything is speeding up and sometimes I feel like I’m kind of waiting for it to change or slow down. And you know what, I don’t think it’s going to. […]

Day 207 – Switchback Bench

I’ve sat here by the river for a very long time today just watching the river flowing by. There is so much here for me, and I can’t wait to see what it is.

Day 204 – Switchback Bench

I’ve been sitting on the Bench for quite a while today. One because it turned out to be such a lovely day. When I left the house it was foggy and cold, but now it is sunny and warm. I’m also sitting here waiting to see if the river level drops enough to cross the […]

Day 200 – Switchback Bench

The cascades are so loud today. I wonder if you’ll be able to hear that in the recording. I’m sitting up on the Bench. The footbridge is completely underwater. I wanted to come up here after seeing how high the water was at Private Bench yesterday. Unfortunately, someone has decided to machete the Bench here. […]
