Day 173 – Private Bench

It is back to being cold again. Or maybe it’s just because it’s getting late in the day. I had a big day, and I’m quite tired as I sit on the Bench. We’re throwing rocks in the river to watch the ripples, expanding out in circles.

Day 163 – Private Bench

The river has dropped a lot in the last couple of days, more than a meter. I love how it does that. It’s just so alive. I’m going to go down to the footbridge, maybe tomorrow, because I bet the bridge is not underwater anymore.

Day 160 – Private Bench

It’s raining very, very gently. It’s been raining for a while so all the trees are wet. All I can hear is the sound of running water and leaves dripping all around me. I saw Edward before. He didn’t see me and he got quite close. The blur in the photo is of him, changing […]

Day 150 – Private Bench

It’s absolutely beautiful right now. There was a big storm earlier, but now it’s completely calm. The sky is still dark though. The river is flowing swiftly and it’s muddier than usual after all the rain. Here at the Bench though, the water level hasn’t changed since I was here a couple of days ago.

Day 148 – Private Bench

The river is still up. It’s only a meter or two from Private Bench. I really like it when the river is like this. I love this Bench when the river is like this. What’s not awesome today is the army of leaf blowers on the other side of the river. Leaf blowers have to […]

Day 144 – Private Bench

It rained most of the day today. It’s really windy and there’s dark storm clouds everywhere. There’s going to be another storm tonight, but right now it’s lovely down here at the river. There’s lots of ducks. There’s this duck, I think it’s nesting, sitting on a nest in the middle of the ‘cup’ of […]

Day 143 – Private Bench

I was having a really tough day. Then as soon as we both came outside, it feels different. It feels lighter, even though the sky is grey.

Day 52 – Private Bench

The sky’s uniform grey. It’s a cold spring day. I’m sitting here in a thick wool jumper, smelling the faint smoke from someone’s wood heater. I saw a platypus today. As I first sat down, I saw his sleek little brown shape, and a rather large splash as he dove quickly. There’s also so many […]
