Day 203 – Northern Bench

The river level is pretty much the same as it was the other day. There’s a little bird up here in the tree. It is singing so sweetly. I’m sure you’d be able to hear it in the recording. As much as I love it when the river floods, I do miss being able to […]

Day 201 – Northern Bench

The river is up even higher today. The legs of Northern Bench are in the water. I love seeing the the river go up and down. It’s a beautiful sunny morning. It’s meant to be nice for the next few days. The flood isn’t as high as last year though. The whole other bank isn’t […]

Day 200 – Switchback Bench

The cascades are so loud today. I wonder if you’ll be able to hear that in the recording. I’m sitting up on the Bench. The footbridge is completely underwater. I wanted to come up here after seeing how high the water was at Private Bench yesterday. Unfortunately, someone has decided to machete the Bench here. […]

Day 199 – Private Bench

The river is up again. It’s all the spring storms we’ve had lately. As you can see from the photo, the water is right up around the legs of the Bench. I’m sitting on the back of the Bench with my feet on the edge of the seat. I love Private Bench when the river […]

Day 164 – Switchback Bench

The bridge is well out of the water. It’s clear by at least a full meter. But it’s covered in piles of debris like this pile in the photo.

Day 163 – Private Bench

The river has dropped a lot in the last couple of days, more than a meter. I love how it does that. It’s just so alive. I’m going to go down to the footbridge, maybe tomorrow, because I bet the bridge is not underwater anymore.

Day 156 – Other Side Bench

The corellas are around at the river today. I wanted to come here to check the flood markers after I went to Switchback Bench and saw that the bridge was underwater yesterday. It’s at 2.8 meters today. Still nothing like it was last year when it flooded. I’m trying to decide whether to use a […]

Day 155 – Switchback Bench

The footbridge is officially underwater today. You can still see the faint outline, and the way the flow of the water changes as it goes over the bridge.

Day 149 – Other Side Bench

I’ve walked all the way around to check this flood marker. It looks like it’s at 2.65 metres. Quite different to the summer level I saw on Day 35 when it was below 40 centimetres.

Day 148 – Private Bench

The river is still up. It’s only a meter or two from Private Bench. I really like it when the river is like this. I love this Bench when the river is like this. What’s not awesome today is the army of leaf blowers on the other side of the river. Leaf blowers have to […]
