Day 256 – Private Bench

The flock of gang gang cockatoos are here today. I love it! It’s a beautiful sunny morning and the sunlight is reflecting of the ripples in the water onto the trees on the bank. We saw Edward this morning.

Day 220 – Northern Bench

We saw Edward today. He was very close. We fed him some oats. He’s such a beautiful duck.

Day 214 – Private Bench

Edward just cruised past up the river. He came quite close again. He hasn’t been coming as close in the last few months. In fact, he’d been kind of swimming away. Today he didn’t seem to mind me being close. He just kept on going on his way.

Day 212 – Northern Bench

Edward just cruised past the Bench. He kind of stopped in and came closer which is nice.

Day 187 – Private Bench

It’s a truly glorious, almost spring, morning. The sun is out, but the air is fresh. It’s very very breezy. Edward’s been around a lot. In the photo, he’s steaming up river, trailing a ‘V’ shaped wake behind him.

Day 185 – Northern Bench

It is a cold, breezy day down by the river. I have a woolly hat and gloves, and a jacket on and I’m still freezing. Edward is here though. It’s so fun to watch him with his bright orange beak and feet. He’s finding food in the grass in the river.

Day 170 – Other Side Bench

It’s a really beautiful sunny day. We’ve come down for a picnic by the river. We brought our burgers down. We saw Edward swimming down river.

Day 160 – Private Bench

It’s raining very, very gently. It’s been raining for a while so all the trees are wet. All I can hear is the sound of running water and leaves dripping all around me. I saw Edward before. He didn’t see me and he got quite close. The blur in the photo is of him, changing […]

Day 151 – Northern Bench

Two ducks have just skated in to land. I wonder if the recording picked up that sound. It’s so beautiful. That’s Edward that I can hear quacking. He’s waking up on the other side of the river. He started preening. I love how when the river gets full, the water flows around the submerged tree […]

Day 72 – Other Side Bench

I think it’s offical – this is my least favourite bench along the river. So close to Northern Bench, but it feels a world away. Something interesting though is that the flood markers are here. I remember when the river was flooded, being across the other side wondering how high the water was. From the […]
