Day 210 – Tennis Court Bench

I think it’s going to rain. My son just hit the ball way up into the air, over the fence, and it almost hit me where I was sitting on the Bench! Now he’s laughing in the background. Edit: I listened to the recording and realised it caught the thump of the ball landing beside […]

Day 209 – Blue Wren Bench

This always has been one of my favourite Benches. There is just such a gentleness here, a peacefulness, a softness and a sweetness. Today, I was sitting here quietly and a mother duck was swimming down the river leading her little ducklings. They are the first baby ducks I have seen this spring. Unfortunately, as […]

Day 208 – Northern Bench

At Northern Bench, there isn’t a cloud in the sky. The sunlight is sparkling off the river. The water level has dropped a lot.

Day 207 – Switchback Bench

I’ve sat here by the river for a very long time today just watching the river flowing by. There is so much here for me, and I can’t wait to see what it is.

Day 206 – Private Bench

The Bench has clearly been underwater in the flood. I’m sitting on the back of the Bench, because the seat is now covered in a fine layer of mud which has now dried and cracked into these beautiful patterns. It looks like an aerial photo of a river.

Day 205 – Blue Wren Bench

I haven’t been to Blue Wren Bench in a while because the river was too high at the bridge. Today, it’s just as peaceful as ever though. The photo is of the old dead tree beside the Bench which has a bee’s nest in the hollow near the top. I always see bees coming and […]

Day 204 – Switchback Bench

I’ve been sitting on the Bench for quite a while today. One because it turned out to be such a lovely day. When I left the house it was foggy and cold, but now it is sunny and warm. I’m also sitting here waiting to see if the river level drops enough to cross the […]

Day 203 – Northern Bench

The river level is pretty much the same as it was the other day. There’s a little bird up here in the tree. It is singing so sweetly. I’m sure you’d be able to hear it in the recording. As much as I love it when the river floods, I do miss being able to […]

Day 202 – Lily Pond Bench

There is so often Eastern Rosellas in the big gum tree at the Lily Pond. Today, there’s also some very pregnant looking cows in the field behind. They’re all black cows. Some of them came to say hello to me.

Day 201 – Northern Bench

The river is up even higher today. The legs of Northern Bench are in the water. I love seeing the the river go up and down. It’s a beautiful sunny morning. It’s meant to be nice for the next few days. The flood isn’t as high as last year though. The whole other bank isn’t […]
