Day 170 – Other Side Bench

It’s a really beautiful sunny day. We’ve come down for a picnic by the river. We brought our burgers down. My son saw Edward swimming down river and has gone off to follow him.

Day 169 – Back Deck Bench

I’m out here at sunset. There’s crickets and frogs. It’s always good to come outside. It changes things up, and changes the way you think. When something’s tough, try stepping outside.

Day 168 – Switchback Bench

I’ve been talking out loud to the birds lately. They’re so beautiful. They bring me so much joy. Today, this little grey fantail was flying around, busily catching bugs. I said to him, “Dear fantail, I would love to take a photo of you”. And he landed on a fence nearby, and just looked at […]

Day 167 – Blue Wren Bench

I feel strange today, neither happy or sad, maybe just a little bit blank or something.

Day 166 – Switchback Bench

It’s a lovely day today. It’s not as cold as it has been. There’s a little bird singing close by to the river. I’m going to see if I can find him. And if I can find him, I’m going to take a picture and write later what it was. Note: It was a new […]

Day 165 – Promenade Bench

A new Bench. I haven’t decided what to call it yet, maybe Promenade Bench? It has a great view. There’s been a lot here for me at the Bench today. There’s a bit of sadness. There’s a bit of guilt. I really was feeling quite terrible when I sat on the Bench today. There’s feelings […]

Day 164 – Switchback Bench

The bridge is well out of the water. It’s clear by at least a full meter. But it’s covered in piles of debris like this pile in the photo.

Day 163 – Private Bench

The river has dropped a lot in the last couple of days, more than a meter. I love how it does that. It’s just so alive. I’m going to go down to the footbridge, maybe tomorrow, because I bet the bridge is not underwater anymore.

Day 162 – Tennis Court Bench

I’m at the tennis courts really early, even though we’re not playing tennis. There’s just so many birds around the moment. I caught this lovely little thornbill standing on top of the tennis court fence.

Day 161 – Lily Pond Bench

The sound of the wind in the pine trees is such a Lily Pond Bench sound. Also the frogs, they are a very Lily Pond Bench sound. I took a photo of the brand new baby pine cones. The trees are covered in them.
