Day 190 – Private Bench

I’m not sure what to take a picture of today. It’s a bit of a grey day. It was windy earlier, but it’s calm now. There’s two Eastern Rosellas up in the tree above the Bench. I don’t usually see them here. I see them more often at the Lily Pond. I still haven’t thought […]

Day 189 – Oval Bench

No words today… just the sunset.

Day 188 – Blue Wren Bench

When I got to the Bench today, it was covered in these amazing, tiny gum nuts. They almost look like some kind of exotic spice. I’ve sat here for a long time on the Bench today. I’ve known for many years that I carry so much guilt. I feel guilty for things that rationally, I […]

Day 187 – Private Bench

It’s a truly glorious, almost spring, morning. The sun is out, but the air is fresh. It’s very very breezy. Edward’s been around a lot. In the photo, he’s steaming up river, trailing a ‘V’ shaped wake behind him.

Day 186 – Switchback Bench

The wind is roaring through the trees at the moment. It’s a very blustery day, the leaves are being stripped off the trees. But the little trees beside the bench here have just started to sprout for spring. I can see the little green buds on their bare twigs. Sitting on the bench today, I […]

Day 185 – Northern Bench

It is a cold, breezy day down by the river. I have a woolly hat and gloves, and a jacket on and I’m still freezing. Edward is here though. It’s so fun to watch him with his bright orange beak and feet. He’s finding food in the grass in the river.

Day 184 – Back Deck Bench

It’s a lovely afternoon. It’s warm on the back deck and quite still. The cherry blossom trees behind the fence are in full bloom. The little plum tree in my yard is also blooming. I’m going to take a photo of that.

Day 183 – Northern Bench

It’s a beautiful afternoon. The sun is out but the air is really cold. There is a flock of red-rumped parrots in the grass on the other side of the river. It’s calm and lovely, but I feel stressed and anxious. It’s been kind of a big day in a lot of ways so it’s […]

Day 182 – Summit Turnoff Bench

It is so beautiful here. I’m sitting, waiting for my son to come back. He’s exploring a little further down the path. I’ve got a view of a lake and a big rocky outcrop. It’s so still and quiet I can hear a kookaburra laughing on the other side of the valley. I’m sitting here, […]

Day 181 – Jim’s Bench

The air is fresh and cold, but the sky is blue. The mountains have been in cloud all morning and they’re just coming out now. I took the photo right as a huge flock of ibises were flying over. How good is it to be outside, looking at a beautiful view.
