Down at the Lily Pond. I had been wondering if there was as many frogs here as there was last year. I think there is. At least there is in this little puddle beside the path. They’re so loud. There’s bright orange toadstools here too.

Day 117 – Private Bench
I think there’s some wattlebirds having an argument in a tree today. The river is the highest its been yet this year. I wonder if it’s going to flood like last year. I kinda hope so. It was pretty exciting. Today, I saw a bright orange toadstool on the way to the Bench. And Edward […]
Day 116 – Northern Bench
It’s rained pretty much all day today. I’m standing beside the Bench, because the Bench is completely soaked. There’s puddles everywhere, the river is up, the storm water drain beside the Bench is gushing. But it’s just so beautiful. It’s the sunset light, and that the bark is wet on all the trees so they’re […]
Day 115 – Private Bench
Sitting on the bench today, I’ve been wondering what to take a photo of. Do I take a photo of the graffiti scratched into a nearby tree trunk, the initials of lovers who have apparently fallen out of love? Do I take a photo of the water of the river flowing by sparkling in the […]
Day 114 – Southern Bench
I went to the Blue Wren Bench because I wanted to sit there today, but it was so wet and soggy that I couldn’t sit on it. At least this Bench is in the morning sun, so it’s relatively dry. I haven’t been feeling good lately. I’ve been feeling flat, with low energy, just pretty […]
Day 113 – Blue Wren Bench
When I sit here and I look out into the green trees in the late afternoon sun, it looks like it could be warm. But it’s not! The air is so cold, and the river is quite noisy because it’s pretty full. As I sat here on the bench I realized how precious this time […]
Day 112 – Salt Lake Bench
Salt Lake Bench. It’s all pink and beautiful here. I love the lines in the salt at the edge of the water and the lines in the sky at the edge of the cloud. It’s all blues and pinks, shimmery and crunchy underfoot.
Day 111 – John Hayes Rockhole Bench
I wanted a photo of this gorgeous little wren. He kept flitting around me, coming quite close. He was wasn’t shy at all, but he was quick! He kept catching me without my phone to capture the moment. Finally, this morning while I was sitting quietly and still, I took this picture.
Day 110 – Ruby Gap Bench
Ruby Gap Bench. There is no bench here though! There’s not much of anything here, except the trees, the rocks, the sky and the wildlife. I’m using a camping chair beside the campfire as my ‘bench’. But Ruby Gap has been one of my favourite ‘benching’ locations to date. Tonight, we are having campfire steak […]
Day 109 – Casuarina Campground Bench
I was sitting on the Bench today waiting for the little desert mice to come out. We saw them the previous nights. They only come out at dusk. There’s too many birds of prey for them to come out during the day. Sure enough, as soon as it got dark enough, the little mice came […]
